ETHICS IN BUSINESS During a conversation with a young colleague of mine the other day, he casually commented that "there is no longer any ethics in Business." Whereas I could not agree with him more, I wondered if even he realized the debt of the problem. |

SYSTEMS ANALYSIS
"All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the systems of knowledge" is one translation of the beginning of the Opening Prayer of the Muslims. This translation implies that Allah's creation consist of a world of systems. In the above Sura Allah introduces us to a vast array of systems (the Ecological system) upon which we may reflect. |

CREDIT DEFAUT SWAPS By Askia Salaam During President-Elect Barack Obama’s campaign, pondants and citizens in general constantly asked him what would he do to solve the financial crises currently gripping America and the world. Because of the nature of politics in this country, he was not able to give them a straightforward and truthful answer, which would have been “I don’t know yet”. Such an answer would have been political suicide but it would have been the truth. We could also add to that statement “neither does President Bush or Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson or Federal Reserve Chairmen Ben Bernanke or any of his financial advisors such as Robert Rubin and Larry Summers and on down the line. |
